É o plano que agora apresentamos. Performance foi o primeiro álbum ao vivo de Telectu. Gravado por Luís Carlos Pereira (o tonemeister do duo) durante a IV Bienal de Vila Nova de Cerveira, que decorreu entre 4 de Agosto e 2 de Setembro de 1984, editado em LP algures em 1985 (a primeira notícia sobre a edição data de Abril). Quatro das seis faixas no disco aconteceram como acompanhamento de performances de Manoel Barbosa e do grupo Neon. E Vítor Rua descreve a deambulação pela vila como se fosse também uma espécie de performance, com «t-shirts psicadélicas, calças de ganga rasgadas e bonés de palha que compráramos no mercado local, numa espécie de mistura impossível de cores e formas, como pedaços de arte nómada atravessando a calma do lugar. Capa de Manoel Barbosa, trabalhada a partir de fotografias da sua performance \"Disgrm\" em Cerveira. Ficha técnica \"internacional\" em inglês muito quebrado. Música exemplificativa do período mais rico e identitário na produção de Telectu (1984-85). A imersão profunda acontece desde o início com o loop criado para \"Eno to La Monte\". No disco, 12 minutos de gentil pressão, um recorte da sensação familiar desde o mais longo \"Palolo\", que ocupou um lado inteiro no álbum Off Off (1984). O processo é de Eno, a tentativa de estase é tributo a La Monte Young. Os títulos das restantes faixas são também indicativos de inspirações várias (Robert Fripp, Fred Frith, Glenn Branca, Saheb Sarbib, John Cage, Terry Riley). Apreciações, para quem desejar aprofundar, podem ser lidas em texto anexo a esta reedição. Todas as inspirações se encontram em forma mutante num corpo que era, inequivocamente, Telectu. Jorge Lima Barreto e Vítor Rua souberam admitir o que e quem os influenciava, tanto como souberam reconverter isso em obra portuguesa que o país largamente ignorou. Incomparáveis, por isso meio isolados (por responsabilidade própria e alheia, a culpa é dividida), mas rodados (tocaram um pouco por todo o território) e, ao seu modo, humildes. Música é prazer. E está acima e além. Advertências: em primeiro lugar, ao fabricar-se novo objecto a partir da matriz original, estão a assumir-se implicitamente quaisquer defeitos decorrentes do desgaste de mais de quatro décadas de armazenamento não-profissional. Isto significa, meramente, uma pequena interferência pouco após o início do lado 1, e de curta duração. Em segundo lugar, as capas e as folhas informativas que as acompanham. Vítimas não tanto do armazenamento (muitas encontravam-se ainda nos invólucros originais da gráfica em papel kraft) mas do próprio material demasiado fino e glossy, convidando a dedadas fáceis e outros riscos de manuseamento casual. Outro detalhe: 40 anos de cola seca provocaram descolamento quase instantâneo dos rebordos quando se abre cada capa sem o máximo cuidado. Simples de resolver. Um fio de cola em cada rebordo. In the still unachieved goal of completing the Telectu 1983-1990 reissues, we press onwards, making use of the available resources. In our hands, a physical stock of 200 original covers (and inserts) of the Performance LP. Zero records, though. BUT the original metal stamper is available, and so 200 new discs were manufactured. This is the plan we are now presenting. Performance was the first Telectu live album. Recorded by Luís Carlos Pereira (the duo's tonemeister) during the IV Cerveira Biennial, which happened between August 4 and September 2, 1984. Released as an LP sometime during 1985 (the earliest mention dates from April). Four out of the five tracks soundtracked performances by Manoel Barbosa and Grupo Neon. The artwork is by Barbosa, based on his \"Disgrm\" performance at Cerveira. For the first time, a Telectu insert was written in English, very broken. The music exemplifies the richest and most distinctive period in Telectu's production (1984-85). Deep immersion begins with the loop created for \"Eno to La Monte.\" 12 minutes of gentle pressure, a reminiscence of the familiar feeling from the longer \"Palolo,\" which occupied the entire side 4 on the album Off Off (1984). The process is Eno's, the attempt at stasis is a tribute to La Monte Young. The titles of the remaining tracks are also indicative of various inspirations (Robert Fripp, Fred Frith, Glenn Branca, Saheb Sarbib, John Cage, Terry Riley). Those inspirations mutated into a body that was, unequivocally, Telectu. Legend? No need to pump this up, the music is self evident. As is the crew of Marfox, NK, Nervoso, Fofuxo, Pausas and Jesse, who shaped the universe as we know it. The simplest of elements for maximum (minimal) impact, an imperative burst of energy that perfectly echoes the title of Marfox's first EP: I Know Who I Am. These are statements of personality directly stamped on the dancefloor. \"Hard Tecno\" (without the H, yes) embodies the crystal clear intention of the set: to light a fire wherever the beats fall. To make people smile and move. And this was (and is) achieved without the need for obvious smiley culture signposts. The music just came through with fierce enthusiasm. All were youngsters (Nervoso being the elder) in 2007, and youth is definitely a factor in the fearless display of bare bones dance music production. Raw, is it? A second volume of DJs di Guetto on Príncipe was always going to happen. The tough part was deciding how to organize the bangers on the tracklist without ending up with a quadruple vinyl set. Thus separate volumes 1\u0026amp;2. Volume 1 (2023) was culled from the actual DJs di Guetto compilation (self released in 2006), whereas Volume 2 comes straight from the crew's archives, nearly 100% unreleased tracks produced in 2007. The crew disbanded as such a long time ago, but the legacy stands as sacred scriptures stand. FL Studio and standard laptop and tower desktop PCs combined as raw materials; a no-fuss approach added by these DJs and producers who sound unequivocally rootsy and primeval, drinking from the source.
